Last updated: 21 May 2026

At VIKING Fire & Rescue (a division of VIKING Life-Saving Equipment), we are committed to making our website accessible to all users. We continuously work to improve the accessibility of our digital content so that it is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for everyone.

We aim to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and strive to fulfil EN 301 549 to the greatest extent possible1.

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA due to the non-compliances listed below.

This statement is prepared in accordance with EN 301 549.

Scope of application

The accessibility statement applies to www.viking-fire.com and its associated subdomains and subpages.

It does not cover third-part platforms, services, or embedded content not controlled by VIKING Fire & Rescue – A Division of VIKING Life-Saving Equipment A/S.

The website is primarily designed for B2B use and does not support direct online purchasing. Users may submit inquiries or request information or services through contact forms.

Accessibility assessment

We have conducted an accessibility assessment of the website. The assessment was carried out using a combination of manual testing and publicly available accessibility testing tools to identify areas requiring improvement.

The latest audit was conducted between March and May 2026.

Accessibility improvements are implemented on an ongoing basis as part of our digital development process.

Non-accessible content

Despite our efforts, some parts of the website are not yet fully accessible. We are actively working to address the following issues:

1.1.1 Non-text content

  • Some images, icons or linked images contain duplicate alternative text, which may cause repeated or unclear information to be announced by screen readers.

  • Some adjacent links do not provide sufficiently distinct or meaningful alternative text, making it difficult for assistive technologies to determine their purpose.

  • Some images contain embedded text that is not provided as a text alternative or caption, making the information unreadable for screen reader users.

1.2.2 Captions prerecorded

  • Some prerecorded video content does not include captions, which may prevent users who are deaf or hard of hearing from accessing the spoken content and relevant audio information.

1.3.1 Info and relationships

  • Some form fields do not provide properly associated labels that can be detected by screen readers.

  • Some fieldsets are missing legends, making it difficult for assistive technologies to communicate the purpose of grouped from controls.

  • Some label IDs are invalid or incorrectly referenced, which may prevent screen readers from associating labels with the correct input fields.

  • Some ARIA label references are missing or invalid, meaning the assistive technologies may not be able to determine the correct accessible name for certain elements.

  • Some ARIA description references are missing or invalid, which may prevent additional instructions or contextual information from being announced to screen reader users.

1.4.3 Contrast minimum

  • Some text does not meet the required minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1, which may make it difficult for users with low vision to read the content.

  • Some heading text, including H1 headings where affected, may not provide sufficient visual contrast against the background.

1.4.11 Non-text contrast

  • Some form controls do not meet the required contrast ratio for visual boundaries, states, or interactive elements.

  • Some interface components, such as input fields, icons, or focus indicators, may not have sufficient contrast to be easily identified by users with low vision.

2.4.4 Link purpose

  • Some links with different destinations use the same or unclear link text, making it difficult for users to understand where each link will lead.

  • Some links do not clearly describe their purpose when read out of context or be assistive technologies.

3.2.2 On input

  • Some form submit buttons or form controls may trigger a change of context unexpectedly when activated or changed, without clearly informing the user beforehand.

4.1.1 Parsing

  • Some pages contain duplicate IDs, which may affect how browsers and assistive technologies interpret the page structure.

  • Duplicate IDs can cause labels, ARIA references, or scripted interactions to point to the wrong element.

4.1.2 Name, role, value

  • Some buttons do not provide an accessible name, making their purpose unclear to screen reader users.

  • Some hidden elements contain focusable content, which may cause keyboard users or screen reader users to navigate to content that is not visually available.

  • Some form controls are missing accessible labels or names, preventing assistive technologies from correctly identifying their purpose.

  • Some icons do not provide an accessible name, making their function unclear when accessed with a screen reader.

  • Certain interactive components do not correctly expose their name, role, state, or value to assistive technologies.

Ongoing improvements

Accessibility is integrated into our design and developmental processes. We:

  • Conduct periodic accessibility reviews

  • Perform manual and automated testing

  • Address identified issues as part of our release cycles
